Work placements for students

Are you a School seeking work placements?

The Talent Tap can help enable your students to reach their future potential

The Talent Tap programme is open to young people from Year 12. We offer sustained support throughout their 6th form, through higher education and into employment.

Working directly with a growing number of schools, colleges and Academy chains, The Talent Tap works in conjunction with Heads of 6th Form and Careers Leads to inspire students to focus on their goals and reach their full future potential.

How we benefit schools:

The Talent Tap works with schools to feed into their careers programmes and support them in reaching Gatsby Benchmarks. Starting in Year 12, The Talent Tap offers multiple opportunities for students to learn from career and labour marketing information, encounters with employers and employees via our careers zoominars and employer seminars.

The Talent Tap aims to interview future focused, aspiring students to join our post A-level work experience programme in the summer term of Year 12. The charity works closely with tutors to encourage and give confidence to all pupils who are considering university and professional careers to apply to the programme. The opportunity is open to all.

If successful, students will be offered personal guidance by way of peer led mentoring throughout their university application process. This enables them to reach their full potential before embarking on our programme at the end of Year 13 and commencing their first two week residential workplace experience.

Independent school partnerships

One of The Talent Tap’s key aims is to help bridge the gap between state and independent schools.

The Social Mobility Commission’s 2016 call for private schools to ‘share their business networks with state schools and provide high quality careers advice and support with university applications’ was a significant step – and now we provide a tangible link between partner schools.

Many independent schools have a wide reaching and long established network of corporate contacts and alumni. The Talent Tap’s model began with a strong association between Wellington College and Wellington Academy School (Co-founders Nick & Rupert both studied at the college) and that model has since been expanded with support from Cheltenham and Marlborough College.

Get involved

We are very keen to grow our school and academy network to allow us to benefit as many deserving students as we can and enable some truly dynamic careers.
